Iridescent blues and teals break against chartreuse and magenta, color layered and overwritten until the surface shimmers the way plumage does — not flat but faceted, catching light differently with every pass. Beneath the gestural accumulation, a single pink arch holds steady at the center of the painting, a quiet armature against which the ornament can spill. The drips are left intact, evidence of gravity and time, because the elemental and the ornamental belong together here. The painting is less a depiction of a bird than an attempt to catch the particular shimmer that justifies its name.
