Sun on the Mountains
Acrylic on canvas, 2026

48”x96”
Light runs across the middle of the canvas like a seam of ore — coral and peach catching the high ridges, celadon and shadow banking down into blue. The upper reaches of the composition stay open and quiet, letting the mountain make its own slow announcement. Here the restraint is the point: a handful of saturated strokes carry the full weight of the sun, and the painting trusts the viewer to feel the hour without being told it.
